What reachlag does
reachlag uses YouTube API Services (the YouTube Data API v3). Every report is built only from data YouTube publishes to everyone: channel names, subscriber counts, video titles, descriptions, publish dates, view counts, likes and comments. We never ask for access to your YouTube account and never see private analytics such as retention, impressions, traffic sources or revenue. Ratios and scores shown on reachlag are calculated by reachlag, not by YouTube.
Information we collect
- Account data. Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile picture Google shares. We use these to sign you in and to send account emails (verification, password reset).
- Channels you add. The public YouTube channels you attach to your dashboard, and the reports generated for them.
- Usage counts. How many reports an account runs, to enforce fair-use limits.
- Server logs. Standard request logs kept by our hosting provider (Google Cloud) for security and debugging.
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. Two functional cookies are set: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a one-year cookie that remembers your language.
YouTube data we store, and for how long
- Channel reports: kept for 24 hours and rebuilt on the next visit; deleted after 2 days.
- Similar-channel research, weekly digests and daily view-count snapshots: deleted after 30 days.
- The channels on your dashboard: name, picture and subscriber count are refreshed from YouTube every night and shown with the date they were fetched.
- Public channels found by keyword search for reachlag’s own research (channel id, size and a short reach summary, never contact details): deleted after 30 days.
- Tracked links you create: the label, the destination you entered, and daily click counts by source site (for example “YouTube” or “your reachlag page”). We do not store who clicked, their IP address, browser or the exact page they came from, and we set no cookie on the click.
- Your public page, if you turn it on: your channel’s name, picture, subscriber count and latest videos with their descriptions (refreshed from YouTube nightly), your report summary, your links, and a daily count of page views. Anyone with the address can see it; turn it off any time from your dashboard.
Google’s privacy policy
Because reachlag uses YouTube API Services, Google’s handling of the underlying data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Public channel data
Reports about public channels are built from public data and may be viewed by anyone with the report link. If you run a channel and would like its report removed, email us and we will remove it.
Who we share data with
Only service providers that run the product: Google Cloud / Firebase (hosting, sign-in, database), SendGrid (account emails), Anthropic (Claude, which processes public video titles and descriptions to write search queries and suggestions) and GoatCounter (page-view statistics, described below). We do not sell personal data.
Page-view statistics
We use GoatCounter to count visits to public pages. It sets no cookie and does not store your IP address; it records the page, the referring site, browser and device type, country and screen size, plus a short-lived hash used only to count unique visits. Signed-in areas such as your dashboard are never reported.
Your choices
You can remove channels from your dashboard at any time, and delete your account and all of its data from the Account page; deletion completes within 7 days. Deleting data stored by reachlag does not delete or change anything on YouTube; to change what is on YouTube, use YouTube Studio.
